Decopatch crafts – DIY

And this time, craft with decopatch
I can’t remember where I found this, but it’s the most fun and easy craft to do.

What is decopatch?
Decopatch is fantastic French company that makes special and colorful Decopatch papers that you can cover with them almost everything, Furniture, sculptures and more.. they also have beautiful models of paper mache.

The materials you need:

  • decopatch model
  • 2 or 3 different decopatch papers
  • Decopatch Paperpatch Glue Varnish
  • medium Flat brush
  • Scissors

let’s start

Decopatch papers

Chose the paper you want to start with and cut it with your hands to medium pieces.

I recommend not to cut with scissors in this point, Because if you do it’s going to be hard to make the papers blend in.

But you should cut with scissors when you have two different papers and you want a clear line between them.

After we have a few pieces all you need to do is to Dip the brush in glue
and apply it first to the model, then you take one piece of decopatch paper and pot it on the part with the glue, dip the brush in the glue again and apply it on the top of the paper.

Continue piece by piece until you finish.

Decopatch

After we are done, let it dry for several hours or even a day.

Is our model dry? great!

Now we can add decorations to it, I like to add gold glitter…

Optional decorations:

Black marker
With a black marker, you can draw on the model, eyes or anything else you want

Glitters

The materials you need:

  • Glitter
  • Decopatch Paperpatch Glue Varnish
  • Disposable cup or other small vessels
  • Saran Wrap
  • Flat brush

To add glitter you can lay out a Saran Wrap on the work area so you won’t have glitters everywhere.
Take the Disposable cup and pot in the Decopatch Paperpatch Glue Varnish. Take the brush and pot in the glue then pot it in the glitters and apply it on the model area until you have it covered.
I recommend doing 2-3 layers so it won’t show the model base at all, you need to wait between the layer that the area will be fully dry.

Fimo

The materials you need:

  • Fimo
  • Strong glue

Take a slice of the fimo and make the shape that you want.
Place in the oven with the heat of 130-100 degrees for 20-30 minutes
Take the fimo out from the oven and let it cool
After it has cooled, glue it on our model with a strong glue.
